PMOG, the best game of all the internet, is now released version 0.5.2! With a bounty of new features for PMOG players:
New Tools
A few PMOG Tools have evolved! You can use
Pings, the PMOG social currency, to make your existing tools even more lively:
Exploding Crates![]() There’s a Mine in that Crate! |
Abundant Portals![]() This Portal Pays! |
Watchdogs![]() Don’t you dare lay a Mine on this website. |
- Exploding Crates
- Finding a crate filled with loot is one of gaming’s great pleasures. Except now some of our PMOG crates might have mines inside of them! Level 5 Destroyers can mix some of their tools together with Pings and they’ll leave something that looks like a Crate behind. Except - boom! Remember, practice safe internet gaming - wear your armor!
- Abundant Portals
- Enterprising Seers of at least level 5 can add social currency to their Portals.
- Watchdog
- St. Nicks are not enough to keep the internet safe. Now Level 7 Vigilantes can buy and sic their watchdogs on specific URLs. Then when someone goes to lay a mine there - youch! They’ll get bit and that mine will fail, thanks to the Watchdog!
For the longest time, we have had crates, mines, portals, and lightposts to play with. And St. Nicks and Armor to police and protect us from other players. Now we have another tool in the mix!
Chat
We are proud to launch PMOG chat in the browser! Install PMOG Chat, then click the chat button and open a window filled with other players! Then, as you’re surfing, you can click the Join button on various URLs to chat with other players there. How many people are chatting on wikipedia.org? Maybe you’ll be the first!
This is the first version of our chat, and we plan to polish it up in the future. There’s a lot of power, it’s built on IRC. So experiment and give us feedback!
Now: Four Skins
Set your in-game preferences to your particular look:
- Wood

- A touch of elegance and old-world tactility returns to PMOG with the wood skin. Choose this to match your appropriate computing device.
- Night

- PMOG in basic black!
- If you run PMOG at night, or if there’s a permanent night in your ideal interface, try this PMOG skin named after the night.
Plus our existing PMOG toolbar skins:
- Plain

- The skin voted “most likely to blend into Firefox”.
- Classic

- The PMOG skin that says, welcome to PMOG!
As ever, Joe has posted helpful patch notes in the Forums.
As ever, we’re offering building blocks. Chat, new tools, non-player characters - they’re all pieces of this great game we are playing together across all of human information on the internet. What game do you want to make out of them? What game do you want us to help you make? Give us your feedback, and wear your armor - that next crate you loot might cost you

New Tools: These look awesome! They will add greater enjoyment and a bigger element of surprise to this already amazing passive game.
Chat: From what I read, (still need to install) this is a great addition to PMOG.
Four Skins: I am a plain PMOGeon and still like the plain toolbar. But it is great PMOG offers all PMOGeon’s a variation or something else they might prefer.
All in all, looks like another amazing release!
