Version .415!!!!

We update PMOG every few weeks (check our version history, no lie!). So it’s not normally a newsworthy item. But this latest version, version .415 is exciting.
Too many folks were having login issues. Working with Mark Daggett we looked at some awesome extensions like Twitterfox to see how they handled multiple users. [...]

We pressed the big red “launch” button that’s been staring us in the face. Hurrah!
PMOG is open for play by anybodies now. Come one, come all, let’s game together online!

Finished a Run

PMOG just finished a crazy run of conferences - Game Developers Conference, Emerging Technologies Conference, and South by Southwest Interactive. It was a blast being able to share ideas with folks on the road! Thanks to those conference organizers for including us.

Staring into a Portal on PMOG

He is arrived in Oakland, sleeping and working in the GameLayers US HQ! On the internet, he is blogging: behold Christopher Watkins’.

PMOG moves to San Francisco

When we were speaking to our investors, one of them looked us squarely in the eyes and said: “tell us why you should start this company in Los Angeles.”
PMOG was born out of conversations at the University of Southern California Interactive Media Division; in Austin, in Helsinki, over Adium. The early prototyping all took place [...]

PMOG in the Panel Picker

Last year at South by Southwest Interactive (SXSW), in Austin, Texas, we had a bunch of fun talking about PMOG concepts on a few panels. Here’s a pic of Joi and Ben and me carrying on.

You can listen to a podcast of that discussion here, or check out a transcript.
Looking forward to March 2008, [...]

Revising PMOG

We’ve had a great run from March 2007 until August 2007 - laying mines, making quests, embedding items, huzzah!
But it’s been jerky - the site goes up and down with the frequency of a cheap ham radio. We’ve moved servers, we’ve throttled our flow, we need to tame this PMOG beast! So it can be [...]
